Installation
- Hardwired wall installation — a licensed electrician is recommended.
- Fits a standard single-gang wall box. All mounting hardware is included.
- Dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 LED bulb and a compatible TRIAC wall dimmer switch.
- Recommended placement: at eye level (≈ 150 cm / 60″ from the floor) for hallways and entryways; 75–90 cm above the bedside table surface for bedroom use.

Is the glass cylinder clear or frosted? +
The glass is frosted — hand-blown with a hand-textured surface that gently captures the light. The bulb is visible through the glass when the lamp is on, which is part of the Darby’s design intent. For this reason, the choice of bulb has a strong visual effect.
Which bulb do you recommend? +
A warm white (2700K), 3–4W G9 LED bi-pin bulb. Because the glass is clear, the bulb’s appearance matters: choose a small, slim G9 LED with a clean, narrow profile — vintage-style filament G9 bulbs look particularly elegant. Avoid oversized capsule bulbs, which may look too prominent or sit too low in the cylinder.
What does “Vibrated Brushed Bronze” actually look like? +
It is a warm, slightly aged bronze shade with a fine vibrated-brushed surface texture — not a glossy finish. The brushing softens the bronze and gives it a tactile, handcrafted quality. The Black and Nickel finishes are flatter and more uniform by comparison.
How big is this lamp? Will it look good on my nightstand? +
The Darby is slim and tall — 12.5 cm wide and 51 cm high (∅ 4.9″ × H 20.1″). It works beautifully as a vertical accent above a nightstand, beside a mirror, or framing an entryway. For larger spaces or as the sole light source above a bed, consider pairing two side by side.
Is the lamp dimmable? +
Yes — when paired with a dimmable G9 LED bulb and a compatible TRIAC wall dimmer (e.g., Lutron Skylark, Leviton Decora), the Darby dims smoothly. Note: not all G9 LEDs are dimmable, so check the bulb specifications before purchasing.
Will the bronze develop a patina? +
The Vibrated Brushed Bronze finish is sealed and stable — it will not develop significant patina or oxidation under normal indoor conditions. The Black and Nickel finishes are also stable. If you prefer a finish that ages naturally over time, explore our other collections in unsealed brass.
How do I clean the glass? +
Turn off the power at the wall and let the bulb cool. Clean the clear glass cylinder with a soft cloth and mild glass cleaner — because the surface is textured, fingerprints and dust are easy to notice but easy to clean. Dust the brass body with a dry, soft cloth.
