A tubular marble wall sconce in the language of contemporary Italian stone lighting — a single hand-cut marble cylinder suspended from a thin brass backplate, projecting light toward the ceiling and wall through both open ends. The proportions are reductive: one stone form, one thin metal panel, two pools of light.
Each cylinder is hand-cut from a fresh block of Italian-style marble — Calacatta Viola for its dramatic purple-and-cream pattern, or warm Cremo Gold for softer, honeyed veining. The marble is translucent enough to let warm light pass through where the stone is thinner, illuminating the entire tube from within. Suitable for bedside walls, hallways, bathrooms, dressing rooms, and pairs mounted above console tables.

Installation
- Connects to a standard wall junction box — professional installation recommended.
- The brass backplate covers most USA single-gang boxes; verify before drilling.
- Install 60–66″ above the finished floor for hallways and bedside walls; paired fixtures mounted above a console or mantel are typically centered 6–9″ above the mantel.
- Install the marble tube carefully onto the cantilever after the backplate is mounted — handle by the body, not the open ends.
- Compatible with a single G9-base bulb — provide your own warm-white G9 LED.
- For indoor use only · suitable for bathrooms and vanities away from direct shower spray.
- Clean the marble with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners that can etch the natural stone.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo? +
No — and that is precisely the point. Each marble cylinder is hand-cut from a fresh block, so the veining patterns, color depth, and placement of dark and light bands vary from piece to piece. The photo shows a representative character; your wall sconce will be uniquely yours. We can occasionally accommodate preferences for dramatic or more subdued veining — please contact us before ordering.
What is “Italian-style” marble? +
The Calacatta Viola-style cylinders are cut from natural marble selected to match the visual character of Italian Calacatta Viola — a cream base with black-violet and gold veining. The stone comes from quarries producing comparable patterns rather than from the original Italian Calacatta quarry, which is why we use the “-style” qualifier.
How does the light shine up and down? +
The marble tube is open at both ends, so light spreads upward onto the ceiling and downward onto the wall, while the stone itself glows from within where the marble is thinner. The result is layered ambient light — soft general illumination plus marble that reads as a lit object on the wall.
Is the wall sconce dimmable? +
Yes, with the right bulb. The fixture uses a single G9-base bulb. Install a dimmable G9 LED on a TRIAC wall dimmer, and the wall sconce dims smoothly. Warm white 2700K–3000K is recommended to enhance both marble color options.
Can I install it in a bathroom? +
Tubular Marble is suitable for bathrooms and vanities away from direct shower spray. Avoid placing it directly above a shower or bathtub where steam and water come into prolonged contact — natural marble can etch when exposed to moisture and acidic humidity over time.
