What shapes is the Nelson Wall Lamp available in?
The Nelson is available in four distinctive shapes, all sharing the same polymer outer shade, steel wire frame, and walnut backplate:
Capsule with ∅ 11″ × H 15.8″ (28 × 40 cm) — the tallest, with an elongated vertical silhouette, ideal for narrow wall spaces. Pear with ∅ 11.8″ × H 11.8″ (30 × 30 cm) — a softly curved teardrop shape. Ball with ∅ 11.8″ × H 11″ (30 × 28 cm) — a round, balanced sphere. Saucer with ∅ 15.8″ × H 8.7″ (40 × 22 cm) — the widest and lowest, with a flattened disk profile for spaces with low ceilings.
Each shape diffuses light slightly differently — Capsule and Pear emit light vertically, Ball is uniform all around, and Saucer diffuses light horizontally.
Does the Nelson Wall Lamp need to be hardwired?
No — the Nelson is a plug-in wall lamp. It comes with a 150 cm / 59″ cord and a plug with a switch at the end, so simply mount it on the wall and plug it into a nearby outlet. No junction box, no in-wall wiring, no electrician required.
The cord can be extended upon request — contact us before ordering if your outlet is more than 150 cm from the mounting point.
What is the Nelson Wall Lamp made of?
The Nelson is made from three materials, in the spirit of George Nelson's original mid-century designs: a polymer shade that softly diffuses light, a slim internal steel wire frame that maintains its shape, and a walnut backplate that anchors the lamp to the wall and adds a warm wood accent against the white shade.
What type of bulb does the Nelson use?
The Nelson uses a standard E26 or E27 screw-in bulb (supports LED or Edison bulbs). Use E26 in North America and E27 in Europe, the United Kingdom, and most other regions. Bulbs are not included.
Because the polymer shade is naturally diffusing, we recommend warm white LED bulbs (2700–3000K) for a soft, even light. The cord switch is on/off only — not dimmable — so for adjustable brightness, pair it with a third-party plug-in dimmer adapter.
What is the return and exchange policy?
Dekorfine offers a 30-day return policy for undamaged items in their original packaging. Since the walnut backplate is real wood, small variations in grain and tone are part of its natural character — not defects.
