Installation
- Hardwired ceiling installation — a licensed electrician is recommended for all sizes.
- All mounting hardware and a 19.7″ / 50 cm suspension chain are included.
- The chain can be shortened on site to adjust the drop height for your ceiling.
- Confirm the ceiling box's weight rating before installing — especially for the 6-head (≈9 kg) and 9-head (≈13 kg) configurations. Reinforce with a fan-rated support box if necessary.
- For dining rooms, hang the bottom of the fixture 75–85 cm (30–34″) above the tabletop.
- The crystals can be detached during installation and reattached after the body is secured — this makes hanging easier and reduces handling stress on the crystals.

Is the crystal real or acrylic? +
The lamps feature real cut crystal — clear, transparent, and faceted to refract light into sparkles and shadows. Each piece has the weight, clarity, and optical character of genuine crystal, not acrylic substitutes.
Which size should I choose? +
As a general guide: 4 Heads (∅ 40 cm) is suitable for small dining tables, breakfast nooks, or bedrooms with 2.4–2.7 m ceilings. 5 Heads (∅ 50 cm) — versatile for standard dining rooms and entryways. 6 Heads (∅ 60 cm) — large dining tables, open-plan spaces, and formal entryways. 9 Heads (∅ 80 cm) — grand foyers, double-height ceilings, and statement spaces over 4 m wide.
Will the brass develop a patina? +
The hand-finished brass is sealed and stable under normal indoor conditions — it will retain its warm tone over time without significant oxidation. Each piece is finished individually, so subtle tonal variation between fixtures is part of its handcrafted character.
Which bulb do you recommend? +
A warm white LED bulb (2700K) with an E12 or E14 candelabra base, at 3–5W per head. Clear flame- or candle-style bulbs work beautifully — they let the bulb filament shine through the crystals for maximum sparkle. Avoid frosted bulbs, which soften the reflective effect that makes Crinolina distinctive.
How much does it weigh? Will my ceiling support it? +
The weight ranges from 6.1 kg (4 Heads) to approximately 13 kg (9 Heads). Standard ceiling boxes typically support up to 23 kg (50 lbs), so all sizes are within range — but we strongly recommend confirming with a licensed electrician before installation, especially for the 6- and 9-head versions. A fan-rated support box is the safest option for the larger sizes.
Is it dimmable? +
Yes — paired with dimmable LED candelabra bulbs and a TRIAC-compatible wall dimmer (e.g., Lutron Skylark, Leviton Decora), Crinolina dims smoothly. The dimmed crystal light is especially atmospheric — many owners install a dimmer specifically for this reason.
How do I clean the crystals? +
Turn off the power and allow the bulbs to cool. For light dust, use a soft microfiber cloth or a clean feather duster. For a deeper clean, gently wipe each crystal with a soft cloth lightly dampened with a 50/50 mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol — it evaporates cleanly and leaves no residue. Avoid spraying commercial glass cleaners directly onto the crystals, as overspray may affect the brass finish.
Can the crystals be replaced if one breaks? +
Yes — individual crystals can be replaced. If one is damaged during shipping or use, contact us with your SKU and we’ll arrange replacement crystals.
