Where the Payson Single wall sconce places one alabaster shade on the wall, the Double suspends two shades from the same antique brass body — stacked or staggered along the vertical axis to create a more substantial architectural presence. Each shade diffuses the integrated LED through the natural veining of the alabaster, creating two overlapping pools of warm, mineral-filtered light. The effect is more dimensional than a single sconce: two light sources, two shadow gradients distinct across the wall surface behind.
The Double suits wider walls, larger rooms, and installations where a single shade would appear undersized — a hotel hallway, a feature wall in the primary bedroom, or on either side of a generous headboard. Two stone options — White and Brown alabaster — regulate the warmth and tonal character of the light.

Every stone is unique. Natural alabaster features veining, color variations and translucency that vary from piece to piece. The shades you receive will not be identical to the photographs — and the two shades on a single fixture may also differ slightly from one another. This is inherent to natural stone, not a defect.

Non-dimmable (standard). The integrated LED is not compatible with standard TRIAC dimmers. Connecting it to a dimming circuit will cause flickering or premature LED failure. If dimming is required, contact us before ordering — a dimmable version is available as a custom build.

White or Brown Alabaster — which should I choose? +

Will the two shades on my fixture match? +
will be very similar but not identical — natural alabaster features individual veining and subtle color variations in each piece, so the two shades on a Double will have slightly different patterns. This is inherent to natural stone and are part of what makes each fixture unique. The overall tone (cream for White, amber for Brown) will be consistent across both shades; they are the specific veining, which will vary.
What is the difference between this and the Single version? +
Il Payson Singola has an alabaster shade (45 cm total H) and suits more compact spaces — bedrooms, hallways, and walls where a single accent is sufficient. The Double (this listing, 50 cm total H) has two shades on the same brass body, providing more light output, greater visual mass, and a stronger architectural presence. Choose the Double for larger rooms, feature walls, and on either side of a wide headboard where a single shade would look visually slender.
Can I use it with my current dimmer? +
No — the standard integrated LED is not compatible with TRIAC wall dimmers. Connecting it to a dimmer circuit will cause the LED to flicker or fail. If light dimming is important for your installation, contact us before ordering and We can provide a dimmable version as a custom build. Please mention the brand and model of your dimmer if possible so we can confirm compatibility.
