A tall sculptural pendant light with stacked washi paper segments and a central sphere. The geometric shape filters warm light through fine horizontal ridges. It works in living rooms, entryways, or double-height spaces where you need a vertical focal point.
What you actually get
Translucent Japanese washi paper wraps the entire shade. Light shines through the horizontal ridges, casting soft shadows.
Drop lengths range from 51.2 inches to 181.1 inches. The widest diameter is 16.9 inches for most variants.
One cord, one bulb. It hangs from any standard ceiling canopy.

Common questions
Which bulb does the Washi Paper E use?
The fixture accepts a standard bulb. Check your local electrical code for the wattage limit allowed by your ceiling box. Most residential ceilings support up to a 60W incandescent equivalent.
Is washi paper durable, or will it tear or yellow?
Washi is a dense, long-fiber Japanese paper. The horizontal ridges you see reinforce the material. Over the years, exposure to heat and ambient light will gradually age the paper, which is normal for organic materials.
How much horizontal space does it take up?
The widest variant (V2 to V7) has a diameter of 16.9 inches. V1 is narrower at 12.9 inches. Plan for at least 18 inches of clearance in all directions beneath the fixture.
Can I install the tallest version (V7) in my home?
V7 is 181.1 inches (15.1 feet) from the ceiling to the bottom. You need a ceiling height of at least 16+ feet and an unobstructed vertical path. Measure before ordering. Installation requires a sturdy ceiling box rated for the pendant’s weight.
Dimensions & questions
Each piece is made to order in our atelier—here’s what most customers ask before choosing theirs.
What ceiling height do I need for the tallest Washi Paper E pendant light?+
The H181.1″ size requires substantial vertical space, making it ideal for double-height entryways or 14+ foot ceilings. With an adjustable 59″ cord, you can lower it to suit your space. Contact us for custom height solutions.
Which size works best above a dining table?+
The ∅16.9″ × H55.1″ or H51.2″ sizes suit standard dining areas, casting warm light over 4–6 seats. For larger tables or a dramatic effect, choose H86.6″ or consult our atelier about custom dimensions.
Which bulbs should I use, and how many are needed for each size?+
Use warm E26/E27 Edison bulbs (2700K recommended). Most sizes require 3 bulbs; H106.3″ uses 5. Ultra-tall sizes (H86.6″, H131.9″, H181.1″) require a custom consultation. Bulbs are not included.
Are glue marks along the shade edge a defect?+
No. Minor glue marks along the shade edge are normal from the hand-gluing process and do not affect the light’s performance or appearance when illuminated. Each piece is carefully handmade.
Can I customize the size or add a different finish?+
Yes. The Washi Paper E is made to order in our atelier. Ultra-tall sizes (H86.6″+) and custom proportions are available—contact us to discuss your room’s exact dimensions and your vision.
